What is TABERonline?

APOS TABERonline is an NIR-based online system for measuring abrasion resistance according to EN 13329 Annex E. The sensors are installed after the press and the abrasion resistance and corundum quantity are displayed within seconds.

Why TABERonline?

Overdosing of the corundum quantity can be avoided to save corundum; underdosing can also be managed to reduce rejects/low quality. No test specimens needed, no personnel required, no traditional taber device needed, no consumables required.

System-as-a-Service

APOS TABERonline can be purchased or is delivered as a system-as-a-service, i.e. the customer orders the system as a service, APOS delivers it turnkey, commissions it at the customer’s premises and the customer pays a monthly service fee. All-inclusive, i.e. no need to worry about adjustments, maintenance, defects, age-related component replacements. Make your choice.

Background

In production of floor panels, the pressing of resin-impregnated papers is carried out on wood-based panels
A surface / overlayer protects the product from abrasion
The abrasion resistance is routinely determined using a Taber Abraser Tester
The Taber Abraser Test of the surface determines the product quality, i.e. the abrasion class (AC) and the revolutions
The laboratory analysis is expensive, time and material consuming and makes process optimization slow and difficult
APOS replaced the laboratory analysis by an online NIR measurement
